What is Forest Bathing?
Forest Bathing is about being present, not covering distance. It's a slow, sensory experience in nature inspired by Japan's Shinrin-yoku. (To take in the forest atmosphere with all of your senses.)
More than a walk, Forest Bathing is linked to improved well-being:
A Boost for the Body: Exposure to phytoncides (airborne organic compounds from trees) can strengthen your immune system.
A Mental Reset: A proven way to clear “Zoom fatigue” and spark creativity.
What to Expect
A session usually lasts around 2 hours and follows a gentle flow:
The Invitation: Your guide offers simple prompts to help you engage your senses—the scent of pine, the texture of moss, the distant song of a bird.
The Sit Spot: A few minutes of quiet stillness to observe the world moving around you.
The Sharing Circle: A relaxed space to share what you’re noticing. Sharing is optional if silence is your preference.
Everyone belongs here: This is a low-impact mindfulness practice. There is no “right way” to forest bathe, and all are welcome.
